WSRA Committee & Officers

The volunteers who help to run the association and support the museum.

WSRA is run by a committee of volunteers, many of whom are former riders, promoters or long-time supporters of the sport.

The World Speedway Riders Association (WSRA) operates as a registered charity (No. 1114501), with a constitution formally adopted in 2006 to support its mission of maintaining speedway history and providing financial relief to those within the sport. This includes maintain the National Speedway Museum with our supportive benefactors Hertfordshire Zoo

The committee looks after the day-to-day running of the association, events, membership and our support for the National Speedway Museum.

WSRA Officials

The Association is a charity registered with the Charity Commissioners (number 1114501) and is governed by a board of trustees who are responsible for the management and administration of the charity assisted by the appointed committee members.

Our President Barney Kennet has no executive duties but represents the Association at various events and attends most committee meetings. Along with Garry Stead he is a WSRA Ambassador maintaining our profile and flying the flag for the Association at every opportunity.

All our officials are unpaid volunteers giving much of their free time to the WSRA.

How the committee works

The committee meets regularly to discuss membership, events, finances and the ongoing work of the association and museum. Key decisions are reported to members and formal matters are dealt with at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
